Momentum Youth Ministry Info for 2025-2026
At First United Methodist Church, our Youth Ministry’s mission is to invite every youth to commit to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to understand their worth and purpose comes from being a child of God.
Sunday School is where youth grow their faith by growing in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. It's a special time where they can gather with friends to become disciples of Jesus Christ, increasing their sense of belonging to a church family and their commitment to their own life-long faith journey. We offer classes for youth 6th through 12th grade every Sunday at 10:00am upstairs in the Family Life Center.
Momentum Youth Group meets Wednesday at 6:30pm and Sundays at 5:00pm, upstairs in the FLC. Through fellowship, devotions, games, worship, missions, and loads of fun, youth deepen their understanding of God’s activity in every aspect of life. They develop a love of service and a desire for fellowship, all while learning how to witness to others. The year kicks off with a BIG Celebration in the FLC at 5pm on August 10.
Confirmation is an opportunity for 6th graders to claim and proclaim their faith in God. Through weekly classes with our pastors in the fall and meeting with personal mentors in the spring, confirmands gain an understanding and knowledge of the Christian faith, the core beliefs and practices of the United Methodist tradition, come to a full understanding of baptism and holy communion, and what it means to become a professing member of Stillwater FUMC. Classes start August 20 and end with a special worship service held on the last Sunday of April 2026.
Bible Studies are small groups where youth get together and study the Bible in greater depth, promoting a love of scripture and reinforcing its personal application. Guys and Girls groups are separated by grade, and times are determined after school starts.
Music/Choir opportunities are available through our music ministry with choir director Keegan Rose. If youth are interested in participating in choir or bells, contact Keegan by CLICKING HERE.

Get in the Game Week 2 Update
Here’s how we scored last week in the second week of our sermon series, “Get in the Game!”
Music Ministry – 4
Greeters – 23
Lay Readers – 16
Communion Servers – 22
Tech Team – 0
I did send emails this week to everyone who indicated interest in our first week’s recruitment for outreach ministries from our congregation. I waited a week to see if we had other folks who might not have been in church on July 27, but wanted to “get in the game.” We did have a few additional volunteers. I’ll do the same next week for everyone who has signed up to help with our Sunday morning opportunities.
On Sunday, Pastor Corey will lead us from the pulpit. Our ministry focus will be partnerships that increase our impact: United Methodist Men, United Women of Faith, our Bolivian partnership, and Our Daily Bread. You’ll have a chance to find out more from these ministry representatives. You can get in the game! The response form on our app will have the new options live on Sunday morning. We’ll also have a new response card in the bulletin.
I’m proud of you, Stillwater First UMC! You’re stepping forward to get involved and get engaged. Let’s do this together.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Charla
