Thank You, Keyata

Many of you know how wonderful Keyata Wright is, from helping to set up for events and cleaning up, to filling in as our administrative assistant (and beyond), we are sad to announce that First UMC staff member Keyata Wright has resigned this past week. We didn’t have a chance to thank Keyata formally for her hard work in caring for our church facilities and helping to serve our community, but we very much wish to do so here! A mention in the newsletter is not sufficient, but it is given with sincere appreciation. Thank you for the years of amazing service and we pray a blessed future for all of your upcoming endeavors!
THIS SATURDAY - Church Volunteer Work Day

The Trustees have planned a Church Volunteer Work Day this Saturday, March 29th, starting at 9am until projects are completed or 4:30pm at the latest. Any time that you are able to serve will be greatly appreciated. The first items will be outdoor projects, so you will want to dress accordingly. For more information, contact Rex Largent by e-mail at xlargent@yahoo.com or by phone at 405-385-2342.

Annual Early Childhood Center Fundraiser

The Early Childhood Center invites you to their annual silent auction fundraiser! People are invited to place their bids this Sunday, March 30, in-between services on the 2nd floor where the classrooms are. The ECC will be putting on a wonderful children's program on Friday, April 4, at 6pm, and the auction will conclude at the end of the event. All proceeds will support our scholarship fund and help provide our school with new educational materials and playground equipment. Your participation will make a difference in the lives of our students and help us to continue to offer valuable learning opportunities. Thank you for your support! The auction is located in the ECC hallway. We would love to see you there!

Rise Against Hunger Lenten Emphasis

Total raised so far: $3,759.00
Throughout the season of Lent, we are raising funds for Rise Against Hunger, along with our sister UMC congregations: Eden Chapel, Highland Park, Lost Creek, Perkins First. During the season of Lent, it is traditional for Christians to make a sacrifice...maybe that favorite cup of coffee, Sonic drink, entertainment outing, one meal a week, etc. The money saved can be donated to the Rise Against Hunger Lenten project. Our community goal is to raise $10,000 by Easter Sunday. These funds will then be used for a meal packaging event in May. We aim to package over 24,000 meals that will be sent around the world where food is scarce.
