the prayer labyrinth at first umc

“Come and find the quiet center”

are you running a bit ragged lately? find rest for your soul and walk the Labyrinth prayer path.

The Labyrinth is simply a sacred walking path for prayer, winding one way into the center (representing God). Once you have entered the center, pause and turn around to follow the same path back out.

  • Step 1: Enter and walk slowly following the winding path with Jesus. Cast all your cares, worries, and fears on him. “Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7

  • Step 2: Pause in the center, breathe, give thanks, rest in God’s presence, allow Christ’s peace to quiet your soul, and listen. “Be still and know that I am God” - Psalm 46:10

  • Step 3: When you are ready, turn around and follow the path back out into the world, taking Christ’s peace with you. Trust the Lord to carry your burdens and renew your hope. “My soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.” - Psalm 62:5

The FUMC Labyrinth is located on the south side of the Family Life Center parking lot by 8th street.
