Hope House 2018 Annual Report
Hope House is a resource center for foster families, offering many of the items a family would need when they receive foster children into their home – clothing, shoes, toys, books, baby items, high chairs, strollers, cribs, car seats, etc. Hope House, while being a part of First United Methodist Church, is run by volunteers and supported through donations from the whole Stillwater community and beyond.
Here is a report of the difference Hope House made in 2018:
Over 183 foster children were served in 2018!!!
Number of Times Foster Families were Served in 2018 – 230
• 162 times on shopping days
• 68 times between shopping days – for new placements and other special needs
Representing foster children served 497 times!
NUMBER OF ITEMS GIVEN OUT:
Items received by those families in 2018:
• Articles of Clothing: 6,325
• Winter Coats: 75
• Packages of New Socks/Underwear: 364
• Packages of Diapers: 162
• Car Seats: 32
• Cribs: 8
• Welcome Baskets*: 28
And much, much more.
*Welcome Baskets are a collection of new items for a child when they are first placed in a foster home. All Welcome Baskets contain an age-appropriate Bible, book, blanket/quilt, stuffed animal, toy and photo album. These items belong to the child and stay with him/her even if they return home or are moved to another foster home.
