We are a church beyond walls.

First Impressions

First impressions are lasting ones. People make up their minds about a church within the first ten minutes of contact. Long before the sermon, people are very likely to have decided if they plan to return.

If you care about people and are passionate about making people feel valued and wanted, we need you! Help provide a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere to everyone who steps on to our campus. Interact with our guests and welcome them to FUMC. Serve by offering a warm smile and friendly welcome to our many guests and members by volunteering for one of the following: We’ll be having a training session for all volunteers and provide you with an information sheet that will help you extend hospitality to all who come to our church.

Golf Cart Driver

Help transport people around our campus from the church parking lot on campus and the parking lot across Duck Street.  For more information, please contact David Lane.

Greeter

Greeters are the first face of First United Methodist Church. Our greeters have the responsibility to reach out with warmth and friendliness to everyone who comes through our doors. Greeters welcome guests and members as they come to our church services, offering assistance as appropriate.  For more information, please click here or contact Charlita Tefft.

Welcome Center Host

Serve our guests and members by providing a central point for answering questions, providing information, giving direction, answering phone calls and handing out guest gift bags. The Welcome Center is located in the FUMC main building and is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday mornings.  For more information, please click here or contact Charlita Tefft.
